Studio Information + FAQ’s
We’re so excited to create with you! Here’s everything you need to know before your visit to make the most of your studio experience.
Location & Parking:
We’re located at: 348 S. Cedros Ave, Unit D, Solana Beach, CA 92075. At the corner of Rosa Street and Cedros Ave in Solana Beach’s Design District. Dedicated parking is available within The Village on Cedros, and additional street parking can be found nearby. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow time for parking.
Studio Time & Reservations:
All studio reservations include up to a 2-hour creative session. This allows ample time to settle in, create, and clean up your space. To keep things running smoothly for all guests, sessions will conclude at the end of the 2-hour time slot, regardless of arrival time, as another booking may follow. We recommend arriving on time and please factor in clean up time so you (and all of our visitors) can enjoy the full experience!
How Do I Book A STudio Reservation? Is A Reservation requireD?
You can book at creative project, art class or workshop or pottery experience at www.commonprojectco.com. Reservations are recommended but not required. Walk ins are welcome as space provides on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
What Should I Wear?
How dirty you may get is project or workshop dependent. But regardless, please come dressed in clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy or clay covered. We do NOT provide aprons so please bring your own if desired. While we pride ourselves on maintaining a clean and tidy studio, art is meant to be messy =).
Does COMMON PROJECT provide all the materials and tools?
Yes, we provide everything! However, while we provide examples and an instruction and inspiration sheet, if there’s something specific you want to create, please bring any inspiration with you.
Ceramics Tips + Expectations For Those Working With ClaY:
We recommend trimming long nails beforehand for a smoother experience.
Be ready to get your hands dirty—it’s part of the fun!
Depending on your project, your work will take 2-4 weeks to be bisque fired (if needed), glazed and fired again. Please complete the Firing Form or all ceramic/pottery related projects and you will receive an email confirmation when your work is ready to pick up.
Cracks and explosions and glaze imperfections can happen during the pottery process. This is a part of the process and while we’ll work together to reduce these incidents from occurring, these outcomes are a normal part of working with clay. COMMON PROJECT takes great care with your work, but we cannot guarantee that every piece will survive the firing process.
Clean-Up Expectations:
Clean-up is part of the creative process! We ask all guests to allow time within their scheduled studio reservation to tidy their workspace and tools.
Arrival & Late Policy:
Please arrive on time for your scheduled session. If you arrive late, your session will still end at the originally scheduled time (2 hours after your booked start), as another booking may follow.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy:
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your reservation for a full refund. Requests made within 48 hours of your booking are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling. We kindly ask that you do not call or email to request exceptions.
Rain Policy:
If your experience is scheduled outdoors and rain is forecasted or occurring during your visit, we’ll gladly work with you to cancel or reschedule.
A Few Final Tips:
Arrive a few minutes early to get settled.
Bring your creativity and an open mind.
Most importantly—have fun and enjoy the process!
