COMMON PROJECT’s studio is home to three pottery wheels and offers personalized pottery wheel lessons, flexible, do-it-yourself open studio wheel time sessions and a handful of studio memberships. Our intimate ceramics studio is designed for all skill levels—from first-time beginners to returning creatives.

INSTRUCTIONAL OFFERINGS:
MULTI SESSION WHEEL COURSE
This four-session course will guide you through the complete pottery wheel process. The first two sessions focus on the fundamentals of throwing on the wheel, the third session covers trimming and refining your pieces, and the final session is dedicated to glazing and finishing.
With a max of up to three people, this is a super personalized and intimate experience. By the end of the course, you'll have a strong foundation in wheel throwing and a complete understanding of the pottery-making process, with your own handcrafted pieces ready to be fired and enjoyed.

WHeel Lessons
Enjoy a personalized pottery experience. This 90-minute lesson may be held alongside up to two other participant or schedule with a friend/partner for a private experience for up to three.
You’ll start with a demonstration of the essential steps of wheel throwing—centering, forming, pulling walls, and shaping—then we’ll coach you through the process. The lesson includes one finished piece to keep, with additional pieces $10 each. You’ll select your glaze color, and your work will be ready in 3–4 weeks. Cleanup is required. Ages 16+.
We welcome lessons for ages 16 and under, we simply ask that you book the session with a friend or parent.

YOUTh + TEEN POTTERY COURSE
Join us every Tuesday in November from 4:00pm to 5:30pm to learn the pottery wheel and hand building. Designed for ages 8-16 years. We will start with the basics and build on more advanced techniques during each session.
Students will make several wheel thrown and hand built pieces throughout the four sessions and learn the entire pottery making process from throwing to trimming to glazing.

HAnd building Session (With INsTRUCTION)
Create a hand built pottery mug, vase, bowl or whatever your heart desires using slab building, coil or pinch pot techniques.
You’ll receive two pounds of clay, tools, templates and inspiration. Plus, this option includes instruction and support. If you’d prefer to work independently without instruction, please choose the uninstructed option below.
Your work will be fired, glazed and ready to pick up in 2-4 weeks. The session includes one piece to keep, additional items are $10/piece.

UNINSTruCteD OFFERINGS:
Memberships
Offered to a select few, COMMON PROJECT’s pottery studio membership provides unlimited access to three pottery wheels, clay, a selection of cone 5/6 glazes and firings. Reserve your studio time in two hour increments.
This option is automatically billed monthly and requires 30-day notice to cancel. Intended for hobbyists, not production potters as the studio is intimate.
After purchasing your membership, studio management will be in touch to coordinate a Membership Meeting to introduce you to studio operations and walk you through reserving your studio time.

DIY Wheel Session
Enjoy two hours of independent, uninstructed time on the pottery wheel to practice, experiment, or create at your own pace. This session is suited for those with prior wheel-throwing experience. If you’re new to pottery, we recommend an instructed lesson first.
One piece is included, with additional pieces for $10 each. Trimming and glazing can be done independently or with studio assistance.
This option is ideal for those seeking flexible studio access and creative freedom.

Hand Building Session - DIY / UninStructed
Create a hand built pottery mug, vase, bowl or whatever your heart desires using slab building, coil or pinch pot techniques.
You’ll receive two pounds of clay, tools, templates and inspiration. Please note this option in an uninstructed, do-it-yourself, self guided experience. If you would prefer instruction and support throughout your session please select the Hand Building session with instruction above.
This is a two-hour session.
