COMMON PROJECT’s studio is home to two pottery wheels and offers personalized pottery wheel lessons, flexible, do-it-yourself open studio wheel time sessions and a handful of studio memberships. Our intimate ceramics studio is designed for all skill levels—from first-time beginners to returning creatives.

MULTI SESSION WHEEL COURSE

This four-session course will guide you through the complete pottery wheel process. The first two sessions focus on the fundamentals of throwing on the wheel, the third session covers trimming and refining your pieces, and the final session is dedicated to glazing and finishing.

With a max of up to two people, this is a super personalized and intimate experience. By the end of the course, you'll have a strong foundation in wheel throwing and a complete understanding of the pottery-making process, with your own handcrafted pieces ready to be fired and enjoyed.

WHeel Lessons

Enjoy a personalized pottery experience. This 90-minute lesson may be held alongside one other participant or schedule with a friend/partner for a private experience for two.

You’ll start with a demonstration of the essential steps of wheel throwing—centering, forming, pulling walls, and shaping—then we’ll coach you through the process.

The lesson includes one finished piece to keep, with additional pieces $10 each. You’ll select your glaze color, and your work will be ready in 3–4 weeks. Cleanup is required. Ages 16+.

Memberships

Offered to a select few, COMMON PROJECT’s pottery studio membership provides unlimited access to two pottery wheels, clay, a selection of cone 5/6 glazes and firings. Reserve your studio time in two hour increments.

This option is automatically billed monthly and requires 30-day notice to cancel. Intended for hobbyists, not production potters as the studio is intimate.

After purchasing your membership, studio management will be in touch to coordinate a Membership Meeting to introduce you to studio operations and walk you through reserving your studio time.

DIY Wheel Session

Enjoy 90 minutes of independent, uninstructed time on the pottery wheel to practice, experiment, or create at your own pace. This session is suited for those with prior wheel-throwing experience. If you’re new to pottery, we recommend an instructed lesson first.

One piece is included, with additional pieces for $10 each. Trimming and glazing can be done independently or with studio assistance.

This option is ideal for those seeking flexible studio access and creative freedom. Available in 90 minute or 3 hour sessions.

DIY Hand Building

Create a hand built pottery mug, vase, bowl or whatever your heart desires using slab building, coil or pinch pot techniques.

You’ll receive two pounds of clay, tools, templates and inspiration to work uninstructed. Your work will be fired, glazed and ready to pick up in 2-4 weeks.

This is a do-it-yourself experience for those familiar with the hand building process. If you’d prefer instruction, please join a hand building workshop. Available in 90 minute or 3 hour sessions.
