COMMON PROJECT’s studio is home to two pottery wheels and offers personalized pottery wheel lessons and flexible, do-it-yourself open studio wheel time sessions. Our intimate ceramics studio is designed for all skill levels—from first-time beginners to returning creatives.

Private Lessons

Enjoy a fully personalized pottery experience for yourself or up to two participants. In this 90-minute session, you’ll receive a guided demonstration covering the fundamentals of wheel throwing—centering, forming, pulling walls, and shaping. If you already have experience, we’re happy to tailor the lesson to support your individual goals and advanced techniques.

The lesson includes one finished piece to keep, with additional pieces $10 each. You’ll choose your glaze color, and your work will be ready for pickup in 3–4 weeks. Cleanup is required. Ages 8+.

Group Lessons

A great balance of personalization and shared experience, this 90-minute lesson may be held alongside one other participant while still offering plenty of individual guidance. You’ll start with a demonstration of the essential steps of wheel throwing—centering, forming, pulling walls, and shaping—then we’ll coach you through the process.

The lesson includes one finished piece to keep, with additional pieces $10 each. You’ll select your glaze color, and your work will be ready in 3–4 weeks. Cleanup is required. Ages 16+.

DIY Wheel Session

Enjoy 90 minutes of independent, uninstructed time on the pottery wheel to practice, experiment, or create at your own pace. This session is suited for those with prior wheel-throwing experience. If you’re new to pottery, we recommend booking an instructed lesson first.

One piece is included, with additional pieces for $10 each. Trimming and glazing can be done independently or with studio assistance.

This option is ideal for those seeking flexible studio access and creative freedom.

DIY Hand Building

Create a hand built pottery mug, vase, bowl or whatever your heart desires using slab building, coil or pinch pot techniques.

You’ll receive two pounds of clay, tools, templates and inspiration to work uninstructed. Your work will be fired, glazed and ready to pick up in 2-4 weeks.

This is a do-it-yourself experience for those familiar with the hand building process. If you’d prefer instruction, please join a hand building workshop.
