Experience the power of making alongside others by joining one of our instructional group classes + workshops. We host these events every Thursday at either 11:00am or 4:00pm or by appointment for private groups.

CeRAMics HANDBUILDING Workshop - Organic Vases - $75.00

This two hour hand building workshop will focus on teaching you how to create an organic vase. However, the techniques can be utilize to create a pottery mug, bowl or whatever your heart desires using slab building techniques. The session will begin with a step by step demonstration and introduce templates, slip and scoring techniques and design. You’ll receive clay, tools, templates and inspiration. Your work will be fired, glazed (by you or our studio) and ready to pick up in 2-4 weeks.

Watercolor Painting Experience- $75.00

Relax into a calming, hour long workshop inspired by our coastal community. Choose eight handmade clay-based watercolor pods made in studio by COMMON PROJECT. Then, paint a handful of Coastal illustrations (created exclusively for COMMON PROJECT by local artist Emily Henderson) or select a beautiful collection California Wildflower designs. All illustrations are printed on quality watercolor paper. The end product is authentic artwork worthy to display on your walls. Perfect for friend groups that want to socialize while making. This workshop is truly where creativity + community come together.

Make Your Own Watercolor Paint Set Class - $100.00

During this two hour workshop, receive a handcrafted ceramic watercolor pallet made in studio by COMMON PROJECT owner / artist, Nicole Novena and a variety of earth based, natural pigments to mix and blend twelve custom colors to create a clay based watercolor paint set. While the pallets dry, using provided watercolor pods, paint California-inspired illustrations. Take home a canvas pouch to complete your newly creative travel paint set.

Cyanotype CLASS - $75.00

A cyanotype is a camera-less technique that involves laying an object on paper or fabric that's pre-coated with a cyanotype solution. From there, its exposed to UV light, washed with water and creates cyan and indigo colored images. During this workshop we’ll discuss the process, composition techniques and you’ll leave with four fabric canvas pieces. This workshop is up to 2 hours long.

Blockprinting WORKSHop - $75.00

The workshop begins with an overview of the steps to block printing as well as techniques, examples and inspiration. Then, design and hand carve stamp(s), select ink colors and use the stamp(s) to print designs on a choice of note cards or tote bag.

Forever Flowers Workshop - $75.00

With Spring and Summer in the air, learn how to make a bouquet of “forever” native California Poppy and Peonies flowers. Using artisan crepe paper, floral wire, wildflower patterns and shaping techniques the workshop will walk you through the steps to creating a handful of realistic flowers that spark joy and stay beautiful season after season. This workshop is two hours long.
