Watercolor Painting Experience - $50.00
Relax into a calming, 90 minute workshop inspired by our coastal community. Choose eight handmade clay-based watercolor pods made in studio by COMMON PROJECT. Then, paint a handful of Coastal illustrations (created exclusively for COMMON PROJECT by local artist Emily Henderson) or select a beautiful collection California Wildflower designs. All illustrations are printed on quality watercolor paper. The end product is authentic artwork worthy to display on your walls. Perfect for friend groups that want to socialize while making. Make Your Own WatercolorS - $100.00
During this two hour workshop, you’ll receive an unfilled watercolor tin pallet to learn how to mix and blend clay, earth based natural pigments and other ingredients to create custom colors and your own clay based watercolor paint set. While the pallets dry, using provided watercolor pods, paint California-inspired illustrations. Take your pallet home in a canvas pouch to complete your newly travel watercolor paint set. CeRAMics HANDBUILDING Workshop - $75.00
This two hour hand building workshop will focus on teaching you how to create a pottery mug, bowl or whatever your heart desires using slab building techniques. The session will begin with a step by step demonstration and introduce templates, slip and scoring techniques and design. You’ll receive clay, tools, templates and inspiration. Your work will be fired, glazed (by you or our studio) and ready to pick up in 2-4 weeks. LINK TO REGISTER.
Introduction to Cyanotypes - $60.00
A cyanotype is a camera-less technique that involves laying an object on paper or fabric that's pre-coated with a cyanotype solution. From there, its exposed to UV light, washed with water and creates cyan and indigo colored images. During this workshop we’ll discuss the process composition techniques and you’ll leave with four fabric canvas pieces. This workshop is two hours long. LINK TO REGISTER.
Line Drawing with Emily Henderson - $60.00
Local artist Emily Henderson will host an exclusive line drawing workshop. The class will begin with an introduction to the fundamentals of drawing and ways of seeing. Emily will demonstrate her live portrait style and have guests practice the style by live drawing a partner! From there, guests will be guided through approachable exercises focused on observation, form, and expression.
Emily will provide individual guidance throughout the workshop, making it welcoming for both beginners and experienced artists alike. All materials will be provided. LINK TO REGISTER.
Blockprinting WORKSHop - $75.00
The workshop begins with an overview of the steps to block printing as well as techniques, examples and inspiration. Then, design and hand carve stamp(s), select ink colors and use the stamp(s) to print designs on a choice of note cards or tote bag. LINK TO REGISTER.
